Community InvolvementConsultationChrysalis has pioneered techniques for facilitating community involvement in the design process and has developed a range of approaches and processes that can contribute to community capacity-building and social inclusion objectives. Consultation is often a key part of regeneration projects an example of this is Forum - Wythenshawe. Public consultation for Market Towns can be highlighted by projects such as Renaissance - Skipton. Issues of lifestyle and healthy eating and can be explored in projects such as Kersal Allotments - Salford WorkshopsChrysalis Arts has wide ranging experience of running workshops to involve community groups and individuals in creating artwork. The workshops are often part of a public art commission and will offer an opportunity for the project artists to interact with the community. This fosters mutual understanding, influences and directly affects the design and will lead to a sense of local ownership and pride in the public art work. Project examples include Grange Park-Preston and Davyhulme Park-Manchester. SchoolsChrysalis has been extensively involved in the delivery of cross-curricular projects in both primary and secondary schools, and working with children and young people of all abilities. The company has been particularly successful in its work in inner-city schools, examples such as award winning project St. Philips School-Salford and Brigshaw School - Leeds. |
