Chrysalis has developed a unique approach to consultancy work drawing on the broad range of skills and expertise of the company's three Directors, Rick Faulkner, Christine Keogh and Kate Maddison, based on 20 years experience of developing and running a successful arts business in rural North Yorkshire.

The company has several areas of specialist expertise: public art, arts-related creative industries development and arts-related rural and urban regeneration, including cultural tourism. It has established a highly successful track record of policy, strategy & and project development based in both urban and rural contexts. Over the past five years, Chrysalis has been responsible for a number of key, strategic projects which demonstrate how the arts can increase capacity and deliver a healthy mix of artistic & economic outputs that contribute to community & economic regeneration plans.

Cumbria Cultural Skills Partnership 2002/03
Client: Cumbria County Council and Partners
Christine Keogh and Rich Faulkner were contracted to develop the Cumbria Cultural Skills Partnership (CCSP). This included consultation with key agencies and authorities, artists, networks and organisations. Production of promotional material and recommendations on future governance. Three professional development roadshows, identification of funding & production of a 2 year action plan.

Making Connections 1998-2000
Client: Lancashire County Council
A professional development project for artists & crafts people in rural Lancashire. The project created stronger networks in order to support the development of individual businesses, co-operatives and joint marketing consortia and including an international exchange programme.

Higherford Mill Feasibility Study & Business Plan 2002/03
Client: Heritage Trust North West
Feasibility Study for a centre for creative enterprise for the arts and creative industries in East Lancashire, contributing to economic diversification and to the area's growth as a destination for cultural tourism.

Public Art Strategy & Design for;

The 'Living Street' pedestrian and cycle route, Bradford.
Client; Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Bradford Trident, October 2004

The development of creative units, office space and facilities in Settle.

Todmorden Town Artist
Development of a position for a public artist to work with Todmorden Pride regeneration this included writing a brief to fit with the Town's aspirations, generating the funds, appointing the artist & mentoring support to the regeneration officer about how to work with and manage an artist.
