Whose Landscape Is It Anyway?

This question was a core element of the Artists in Transition project, and had become highly topical in the light of the impact of Foot and Mouth disease. As access to the countryside remains limited, the artists believe that the development of arts and cultural activities in rural areas should move sharply up the agenda. All the artists involved were deeply committed to this and a continuation of their work is a natural and important development.

Some of the artwork created during the Artists in Transition project in Gargrave was put on show at Lantern house, in Ulverston, Cumbria as part of an exhibition titled 'Picking Up the Threads'.

Chrysalis Arts continues to develop links with Finland and, more recently, has established links with Estonia, to work with rurally-based artists.
