Regeneration
St. Philips School-Salford | Chrysalis has extensive experience of regeneration projects from inception to implementation through pioneering projects such as St Philips School that won the RTPI award for planning achievement 1994. The judges' comments included: ” The scheme is notable for the participation of artists in the process…it must be one of the most imaginative schemes of urban regeneration ever undertaken. The decision to bring in Chrysalis Arts to participate in the treatment can only be described as inspired.” |
Tonge Fold - Bolton | 
FORUM-Wythenshawe | A more recent example is Wythenshawe Forum, Manchester, a collaborative regeneration project with community consultation and involvement to integrate public art into the £20 million redevelopment scheme. Chrysalis Arts put together and led a team of 12 artists to design and create the artworks and collaborated with Ellis Williams architects to integrate the artwork into the overall building design and planned the detail split of work with the main contractors Laing O' Rourke. Throughout the 2 year programme from 2002 to 2004 Chrysalis worked with Wythenshawe Partnership to ensure that local residents were involved in the design and creation of the artworks through consultation and a series of workshops. |
